How We Moderate

Revision of 5 October 2026

01Who decides

Decisions are made by people from the Le Sillage editors. Only two things are automatic: a filter of banned words that stops a text from being published, and temporary hiding of a post reported by six different verified accounts. A person then reviews a post hidden this way.

02What we see

What is open to others: public impressions, comments, listings, names — as well as reports and photos of bottles sent for a drawing. The editors do not see your diary, notes, private impressions or wardrobe.

03Reports

04What we do about a violation

For every decision the author gets a message: what was removed, which rule was broken, who decided — a person or automatic hiding — and until when a suspension lasts.

05If you disagree

The message has an “Appeal” button. Another person from the editors will review the decision, and the answer will come to the same place. A decision can be appealed once, within six months. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body (EU Digital Services Act, Art. 21) or go to court. You can also write to support@lesillage.me.

06Blocking

You can block any author: “•••” → “Block the author”. You will stop seeing their posts and comments, and they won’t be able to reply to yours. The list is in Profile → Settings → “Blocked”.

07Limits

To protect against spam, posting is limited: comments — 10 per hour and 50 per day, public impressions — 20 per day, listings — 5 per day, reports — 20 per hour and 50 per day.

08Illegal content

Anyone, even without an account, can report illegal content: the form at lesillage.me or an email to support@lesillage.me. If a post threatens people’s lives or safety, we inform the authorities.
